    🔗 Eva Nogales: La hija del pastor de ovejas y la bordadora, en las quinielas para ganar el Nobel | Ciencia | EL PAÍS

    > La científica española Eva Nogales está en las quinielas para ganar el Nobel. Su biografía es inusual en estos galardones. “Mi padre era pastor de ovejas y mi madre era bordadora. No pudieron acabar la educación básica porque se tuvieron que poner a trabajar con 11 o 12 años”, explica Nogales, nacida hace 58 años en el pueblo madrileño de Colmenar Viejo. La obsesión de sus padres era ahorrar para que sus hijos sí estudiaran. Nogales entró en la Facultad de Físicas de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid en 1983, en plena movida madrileña. “Había muchas fiestas, mucha droga, mucho sexo, pero yo no tenía dinero y era una empollona. La movida me la perdí, estaba en la biblioteca”, recuerda a carcajadas. La investigadora acaba de recoger un premio de más de un millón de euros, el Shaw, entregado en Hong Kong y considerado el Nobel oriental. Uno de cada siete galardonados ha terminado ganando también el Nobel.

    After years of tweeting/posting, retweeting/boosting, liking/faving, quoting, inserting GIFs/images/videos/songs, and other ways to express thoughts, ideas, opinions and states of humor, the by-design focused/limited functionality of micro.blog is both soothing and frustrating.

    I’m so happy I was able to build my About me page in three languages, with a distinct card for each of them and hyperlinks that lead to each of the languages. My HTML knowledge is very, very, very basic. I really hope it’s user friendly, I tried to make it visually appealing since the plain text was too long otherwise.
